Shirley Temple is a wonderful actress, singer, and dancer!  I have watched a ton of her movies.  She has great talent.  I may decide to be an actress someday just like her!  Shirley Temple is a legendary child actress; she’s been in more than fifty short films.  One of Shirley’s first films was at the age of three.  I think she is amazing and I would like to meet her someday!    If you want to learn more information click here.

At one time Shirley Temple was the most famous actress in the world!  Shirley Temple is still alive today!  She changed the world in many different ways, which is amazing.

Shirley Temple was born on April 23, 1928, Santa Monica, California.  She was an actress, dancer, and singer.  Shirley also took dance lessons, which is where she started her career.  She started dance lessons at the age of three, that’s the first time she started acting too.  Shirley’s mom, Gertrude always wanted to be an actress.  So she encouraged Shirley to do her best and to do what Gertrude never had the chance to do.

Shirley was the youngest out of her and her brothers. Then Shirley tried out for a show called Baby Burlesk.  Shirley did great!    That was her first movie, made in 1931.  While making the show, Shirley made fifty dollars a week.  After the producers were done making the movie Baby Burlesk the studio went bankrupt.  A few days later the famous, Fox Studios came to offer Shirley a part in the new movie coming out called Stand up and Cheer.  She danced and sang to a song called Baby Take a Bow.  During the filming of Stand up and Cheer the Fox Studios thought people would like her more if she was younger.  So they changed her birth certificate to four years old when she was really five.  At the age of twelve Shirley found out she was really thirteen!

Shirley went to school at Harvard-Westlake school in Los Angeles.  Her next movie was called Little Miss Marker, she was supposed to miss behave but all she did was laugh.  There were a bunch of scenes that looked dangerous on TV, but really they are completely safe!  The whole time Shirley acted like it was a game.  She could never stop smiling!  Temple made dozens of movies before she was even ten!  In most of the movies she was a lonely orphan, but she wanted to be challenged.  If Shirley ever misbehaved on set the studio would put her in a hot and dark box.  They would only give her one ice cube so she wouldn’t pass out.  She wanted to sit on the floor but it was wet from the ice cube.  Shirley grew weak and could barely move.  Gertrude, her mother didn’t know this because the studio never let family members in.  If someone did come in, they would get “accidentally” locked in a room.  Once Shirley fell out of a cart that was being pulled by an ostrich and no one knew she had fallen!

Can you believe the first time Shirley got married was when she was 17!  She married a man named John Agar.  Three years later they had a daughter, then one year later they got divorced.  It was a complete disaster!  The next year she got married to Charles Black, who she had two kids with.  One’s name was Charles Jr. and the other one is named Lori Alden.  Shirley Temple lived in California for most of her life.  She was a U.S ambassador to Ghana, Protocol, and Czechoslovakia.  She was also the first woman to be Chief Protocol.  She also published a book called Child Star.  Shirley Temple ran for congress woman but she failed.  Shirley also planned Jimmy Carters Presidential inauguration.
