I would like to be cal Ripken because, he has Broke the record with  2,632 consecutive games played. I think it would be cool to be cal Ripken and see cal Ripken on are field trip to the base ball hall of fame. Cal Ripken was one of the most astounding players in baseball history.  He broke the record for most consecutive games on September 6, 1995.  He was also crowned the “Iron Man of Baseball” in 1996.

     Cal Ripken was born august 24, 1960 in Maryland. He had two brothers named Billy and Fred and a sister named Elly. He was the 2nd oldest of the four.  His family moved around a lot for his dad’s spring training. And lived in 14 different rented homes in Florida. When he was young it was hard to have friendships and he could not finish baseball seasons each time.

     In first grade he missed his family so much he would wait until the teacher was not looking and then grab his coat and run out the door. In North Carolina he was playing baseball and scoters were looking for him at the age of 17 for the majors.

Cal got married to a lady named Kelly in 1987, and had two kids named Ryan born in 1993 and Rachel born in 1989.  He played professional baseball for 17 years in the [MLB]. And beat Lou Gehrig for most consecutive games in 1995.  He was in 16 All-star games. In 1983 he was elected American Rookie of the year in1993. He also won the gold glove award 2 times for shortstop. And was the man who hit the most homers for a shortstop in1993 with 278 homers.
