Sandra Day O’Connor was a Jurist and was in the U.S. Supreme Court justice. I want to be a Jurist because I want to make history.  She was the first woman to serve as a justice on the United States Supreme Court in 1981.She retired from the court on January 31, 2006. I would like to learn why she wanted to become a Jurist.

Sandra Day O’Connor was born March 26,1930 in El Paso, Texas. Her Father (Harry) and her Mother (Ada Mae) owned a ranch in Arizona (called the lazy B). She loved to ride her horse (Chico), do ranch chores a loved to hang out with cowboys. She was enrolled in Radford School for Girls first-fourth. She was enrolled in Lordsburg fifth-seventh grade.

Sandra skipped grade eight then went on to Austin High School in El Paso and attended Stanford University at sixteen. She was in the Spanish Club, Drama Club and the student newspaper.

     Sandra Day O’Connor was married to John O’Connor. They where married on the Lazy B. There first child (Scott) was born 1957. There second child (Brian) was born 1960. There third child (Jay) was born 1962. As a family they lived right outside Phoenix on a ranch they built themselves.

Sandra could not find  a job in the fifty’s because she was a female. She worked in Frankfurt, Germany and in California. She was a State Senator. And the first female on the Supreme Court Justice.

Then she was diagnosed with breast cancer and a little bit later she was diagnosed with a tumor they then figured out it was able to be removed what kept her going was how she voted for what she believed in.
