Charles Schulz

I want to study Charles Schulz because he wrote the peanuts. I also like him because he is interesting because he made the Peanuts all by himself. Also he skipped 3rd and 5th grade. Charles was born in 1922 and died in 2000 from cancer. This is why i want Charles Schulz for my Famous American.  For more information visit THIS WEBSITE

Did you know that the Peanuts comic strip was based on Charles Schulz’s 5 children? Charles Schulz is not famous because he has 5 children but he is famous because he used his 5 children to make characters like Charlie brown, Lucy, and Linus. These kooky characters were a big success.

Charles Monroe Schulz was born on November 26th 1922 Minneapolis, Minnesota. Schulz was born an only child with his parents Carl and Dena. When Charles was in kindergarten his teacher told his class to draw something for homework and when Charles handed his home work in his teacher said he had true talent. Charles Schulz was so good in school that he skipped 3rd and 5th grade. Skipping these grades caused him to be so small. When Schulz got to sixth grade kids in his grade always teased him about being short.

When Charles was growing up he was a normal kid just like you and me because he enjoyed sports like biking, baseball, hockey and comic books. He graduated in at the age of 17 from St. Paul Central High School.

Charles Schulz loved and dreamed of drawling. His dog Spike inspired him to draw a cartoon in 1937.He taught himself how to draw his favorite characters. On Saturdays Charles family would getthe Daily Paper and then they would read the comics out of it. After they were all done they would talk about it. When Charles was growing up, he was a normal child just like you and me because he enjoyed sports like biking, baseball, hockey and comic books. He graduated at the age of 17 from St. Paul Central High School in 1940. During his senior year, Sparkey took art classes.

After he finished art classes, his mom died from cancer. So to feel better, Charles joined World War II. When he was in the army, he didn’t draw much. He just focused on being a soldier. When war ended, Charles went back to St. Paul and got a job lettering and drawing cartoons. He also was an art teacher. In 1950, Charles wrote the comic, Peanuts, which featured Charlie Brown and Snoopy. The comic became very famous. The cartoon even appeared on television. After fifty years, Peanuts was still going strong. People were still excited about reading it. He was even given a Hollywood Star in 1996. Charles died in 2000 from cancer too. People still remember and pay tribute to Charles Schulz today.
